Anointed and Prophetic Art can be a visual representation of the essence of the Heart of God, a constant reminder of the colour and life that he splashes into our life. Paintings can be a good conversational starting point and can speak to everyone, visual imagery is a universal language, God is seeking to touch others through the creative ability of His Children.
Creativity is inherent in everyone because we are all made in the image of God and He is the Divine Creator. As creative thinkers we can move into unknown territories i.e (ideas that are outside of the box) God wants us to to step out and put Art back into His hands, the nature of the art being born out of Love, born of the Spirit which will stand out as light against the darkness, giving glory to God.
God is raising up a generation of artists and worshippers that are sold out for Him and are being used as His tools to release the sounds and colours of Heaven.
The Question: What is Prophetic Art?
Anyone who has a Christian faith is prophetic, prophecy is hearing the heart of the Lord and because Christians have Jesus within the heart they able to hear and see the heart of the Creator of the Universe, if one listens that is.
being prophetic and having the office of a prophet is different.
ok so I am prompted to create in different ways, one way is what God has been speaking to me about at a particular time, this can be personally or for others. It is a visual representation of that.
It can also be the interpretation of a vision I see (I get visions especially when worshipping) this is known as a seer gifting.
I will give you an example of the process behind one of the paintings (this process isn’t always the same, we can’t put God in a box and pin him down to a formula) I felt prompted to paint this picture and the image was forming as I was painting, I felt I had to add some things to the painting that I hadn’t intended. When I had finished I was prompted to take it with me to a friend I was visiting, I showed her the painting and I felt in my Spirit that it was supposed to be for her, she liked it and wanted it straight away but decided to pray about it first, that night God spoke to her in a dream by giving her a vision of what was in the painting and then telling her the painting was for her.
Prophecy is encouraging and helps to confirm or reveal to others what is on Gods heart – so that prophetic painting encouraged my friend and God also spoke to her through it to do with her walk with him. I didn’t realise really why I was prompted to paint the things I did but obviously God did, I suppose it can be simialer to a word of knowledge.. ( a word of knowledge is something that God can tell a person about someone else to show them He exists and cares for them and it could also be to heal them of physical or emotional pain). So one can have a word of knowlege for someone and call it out yet the person who has the word does not know who it’s for until that person comes forward. So the prophetic paintings Artists produce may have a specific prophetic meaning to some but not all. To some it would be just to inspire and encourage.
Another way one could think about it is that it is a different form of communication, it would also help those who maybe can’t read or understand your language, hopefully the image would draw people to God or wanting to find out about Him, and God could speak to them through the Image.
In these days I do not think that God wants to be put in a box with the way he communicates with us, he can use technology visuals, video, art etc. as ways of communicating the gospel. Jesus spoke in the language of the times, we are more advanced in technology now, visuals speak to us everywhere in advertising billboards etc. so God can also use this form of communication as a tool.
Jesus painted pictures in the imagination by teaching in parables.
